Chinese painting lessons with flowers and birds in Athens
Flower and bird painting is very popular as (an) introduction to Chinese painting.
There are many (all) kinds of colorful flowers, birds and insects in nature. These are the subjects of our paintings.
Nature is a precious gift that God has given us. We appreciate them and discover the laws of beauty.
Flowers are affectionate, birds are lovely, and they have emotional communication with humans. For example, when we see plum flowers, we feel happy and express this feeling through painting. This is what the Chinese idiom says“wu wo liang wang” one becomes part of the nature, and the nature becomes part of oneself。
Ink brush painting is to express our “emotion” and “feeling” with general and concise brushwork.
Also the ink brush painting is the kind of soft martial art. maybe you or your friends have studied a martial art like kung fu or taichi.
you might be surprised, but paiting with a brush is like doing a martial art, why? because in brush painting, you have to focus, especially when painting long strokes .you have to think about the steps, you have to focus on your thoughts and make a move, you have to take a breath and hold it ,towards the end of the strokes, you let out your breath.
As you can see, brush painting is more than just swinging a brush across a piece of paper. it’s about using the internal energy of life.in a special way we called it “chi”.
you can learn to recognize and focus your “chi” energy when you paint. learning to use the brush is a type of discipline that teaches patience ,control and respect for the art.
